70+ Years of Agricultural Excellence

From Damongo Farm Institute to College of Agriculture and Allied Sciences

1953 - The Beginning

The Damongo Farm Institute was established to involve farmers in the Northern Regions of Ghana in group farming. The purpose was to train farmers and equip them with farm equipment to improve food production in the region.

1963 - International Partnership

A joint project by Canadian, German and Ghanaian governments transformed the institute into a farmers training centre. Started with 11 male students offering Mathematics, English, Farm Mechanization and Animal Husbandry.

1995 - Damongo Agricultural College

Converted to replace Nyankpala Agricultural College following UDS establishment. Initially offered 3-year programs, revised to 2-year Certificate in General Agriculture in 2016, training Agricultural Technical Officers.

2024 - Present

Damongo College of Agriculture and Allied Sciences

Transitioned under the TVET system in 2024, continuing our legacy of agricultural education excellence under the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA).

This is a one-year programme offered by the college, comprising two semesters

SHORT COURSE IN AGRICULTURE
Duration: 4 months

We offer 4-month practical-oriented courses in Poultry production, Pigery, Cattle, Sheep and Goat production, Beekeeping, and Vegetable production
